1. Goodbye "Remember Me" Checkbox:
The first noticeable change on the login screen is the absence of the "Remember Me" checkbox, which ServiceBox has made automatic as the default setting. Users logging in will remain logged in for a default period of two weeks. This adjustment streamlines the user experience, eliminating the need for manual selection of the checkbox.
2. Revamped "Forgot Password" Functionality:
In the past, users had to enter their email or username, and ServiceBox would generate a one-time password for them. Now users to receive a link to reset their password, giving them the autonomy to choose and confirm their new password immediately.
3. Easier New Password Reset: As of this week, Users can now use the "forgot my password" link to initiate password resets anytime, by entering their username or email. Once they receive the reset link, they can set a new password of their choice. Additionally, the reset password page facilitates users in confirming their new password, ensuring a smoother and more secure password recovery process.
4. Timely Reset Link Expiry:
To enhance security, the reset password link now expires after 10 minutes. If users click on the "I forgot password" link but fail to reset their password within the stipulated time, the system prompts them with a validation message indicating that the token has expired. To address this, users are advised to click on the "I forgot password" link again to receive a fresh reset link via email.
5. Streamlined Unlocking Process:
Previously, users faced challenges when locked out of their accounts due to multiple invalid login attempts.
ServiceBox has simplified this process by allowing users to regain access immediately after resetting their own password. By clicking on the "I forgot password" link, users can initiate the password reset, unlocking their account and seamlessly logging back in.
