Issue:

Our users often wonder if they can send text messages to their clients directly through the ServiceBox. Moreover, they may be interested in setting up automatic SMS notifications or sending specific messages to their customers.

Cause:

The current capabilities for SMS communication within ServiceBox are primarily focused on Enroute and Day Before Notification features only. Here's how it works:

Solution:

While ServiceBox currently doesn't support sending SMS messages directly from a Work Order to a customer, the email feature within the Work Order provides an effective alternative for communication.

Here is how the you can set up current capabilities for SMS within ServiceBox for Enroute and Day Before Notification features:

  • SMS Messaging Add-On: Clients who wish to use SMS notifications can activate the SMS messaging add-on through their ServiceBox settings.
  • Enroute and Day Before Notifications: When the SMS messaging add-on is activated, ServiceBox ensures that Enroute and Day Before Notifications are sent to the client via SMS instead of email. This feature is particularly useful for providing clients with timely updates about appointments, schedules, or service visits.
  • Mobile Number in Customer Setup/Portfolio: To enable SMS notifications, ServiceBox requires the client's mobile number to be stored in their Customer setup or portfolio. This is where the system retrieves the necessary contact information for sending SMS messages.
