Issue
A concern was raised by some of our customers regarding disparities in the information displayed on the "info" page of our mobile application, specifically between iPhone and Android devices.
Workers using iPhones reported smooth access to and accurate viewing of specific information. However, a contrasting experience emerged among users with Android devices, who encountered discrepancies in the displayed content. This article delves into the intricacies of the reported issue and explores the successful resolution that ensures a seamless user experience.
Cause:
Upon a comprehensive investigation, our support team determined that the root cause of the issue did not lie within the mobile application itself but rather within the settings. Specifically, it was discovered that a custom field flag, labeled as "Restricted," had been set to "YES." This restrictive setting was identified as the origin of the discrepancies, likely causing variations in the displayed information between iPhone and Android devices.
Resolution:
For users who find themselves unable to see custom fields on their screens, the resolution involves adjusting the settings for the custom field. Mark the Restricted setting for the custom field to "No" by unchecking the box. If it is set to "yes," the information collected in your custom field is treated as confidential and is intended only for viewing by administrators. This adjustment ensures a uniform and consistent user experience across both iPhone and Android devices, addressing the reported information display discrepancies effectively.
